Siddharth Mahajan, Partner at Athena Legal, is one of India’s most respected voices at the intersection of Intellectual Property, Technology Law, and Commercial Law. A Forbes India Legal Powerlist 2022 honoree, Siddharth is known for advising startups, global corporations, and industry leaders with equal precision—bringing clarity to complexity in the fast-evolving digital legal landscape.

From shaping innovation-friendly legal frameworks to mentoring the next generation of lawyers, Siddharth represents a rare blend of strategy, structure, and human-centric leadership in modern law.

Born and raised in a small town in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, Siddharth never planned on becoming a lawyer. With a doctor as a father and a professor as a mother, law wasn’t even on the career radar. His journey into law began purely by chance when he applied to the first-ever batch of NALSAR University of Law after spotting an unexpected advertisement.

That single decision reshaped his life.

From being part of a completely unstructured first batch—where students built societies, rules, and governance from scratch—to becoming a trusted advisor on India’s biggest tech and IP matters, Siddharth’s rise has been built on adaptability, consistency, and deep legal insight.

He began practicing IP law in 2003, at a time when trademark filings and anti-piracy actions defined the space. Over two decades, he witnessed and contributed to India’s transformation into an IP-driven startup economy, where AI, Web3, creator monetization, and deep tech dominate legal strategy.

In 2016, he merged his independent practice with Athena Legal, where he now leads with a client-first and people-first philosophy, balancing responsiveness with mentorship and team well-being.
