Raksha Kumar is an experienced multimedia journalist currently working with NPR, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. With over a decade of experience, she has reported extensively on human rights, social justice, politics and gender from 12 countries. His work has been featured in such prestigious publications as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the BBC and The Guardian. Defence is known for its expertise in conflict reporting, rule of law and civil liberties, as well as skills in multimedia shooting and editing!
Raksha holds a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a BA in Journalism from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. She has been recognized with several awards, including the UNFPA Ladli Media Award for gender-sensitive reporting, and the National Foundation for India Media Award for land rights reporting and claims she is immersed in hard journalism in defence, meaningful storytelling and a deep understanding of the issues he covers.
