Nikita Mishra, Founder of Shanik Consultants, brings around 15 years of international experience across India, the UAE and Central Asia. Her professional journey has moved through law firms, in-house legal roles, international advisory and entrepreneurship, covering corporate advisory, M&A, cross-border investments, governance and regulatory compliance. This diverse experience has shaped her approach to legal advice as something that should protect businesses while still enabling them to make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.

Her career has taken her through distinctly different professional and cultural environments. Beginning with Indus Law, she moved into real estate-focused practice, then into an in-house role where she experienced the difference between advising from outside an organization and seeing how legal advice actually works within a business. Her move to Dubai brought another layer of learning, followed by her experience in Uzbekistan, where she had to learn Russian and adapt to a completely different business culture.

One of the strongest themes in Nikita’s conversation on The Koffee Conversation Show – The Emerging Lawyer is the relationship between legal risk and business decision-making. Her experiences with clients who signed SPAs before completing legal due diligence reinforced her belief that deal momentum should not replace careful preparation. She also reflects on how lawyers can sometimes communicate risk in ways that unintentionally create fear, arguing that legal professionals should guide clients rather than simply tell them everything that could go wrong.

Beyond the boardroom, Nikita’s journey has also taken an inward turn. Her experience with Vipassana challenged her to spend ten days in silence and without screens, bringing greater awareness to her body, emotions and inner experience. She connects this personal learning with her broader view of leadership and life: emotional wisdom, balance, acceptance, gratitude and the ability to understand people from different cultures and perspectives. Her story ultimately reflects a modern legal professional evolving from advisor to business partner while continuing to see herself as a student of life.
