Ishan Tuljapurkar represents a new-generation legal professional who has successfully merged law, technology, and product thinking into a powerful career path. As Chief Product Officer at Legacis, he operates at the intersection of compliance, governance, and AI-driven systems. With a background spanning economics, law, and coding, his journey reflects a multidisciplinary mindset—one that is essential in today’s rapidly evolving legal-tech landscape.

In this episode of The Koffee Conversation Show, Ishan shares a deeply practical and forward-looking perspective on legal tech, AI adoption, SaaS products, compliance innovation, and ethical system design. His insights highlight a critical truth: the future of law will not be defined by lawyers alone—but by professionals who can bridge law with technology, product thinking, and user experience. His journey is a testament to adaptability, curiosity, and continuous reinvention.

Ishan’s career journey began with a strong inclination towards coding and technology from a young age, even before formally entering the legal field. After pursuing economics and political science, followed by law from ILS Law College, he initially started in litigation. However, a turning point came unexpectedly due to an injury that kept him away from courtrooms—leading him to explore and contribute to a legal-tech product being built within his organization. This accidental shift eventually evolved into a purposeful career in legal technology.

A defining aspect of his journey has been his role in building and scaling SaaS-driven legal solutions. From understanding user behavior to translating complex legal requirements into simple digital workflows, his work reflects a shift from traditional legal practice to product-led problem solving. His journey shows that innovation in law is not just about tools—it is about mindset, ethics, and the ability to simplify complexity at scale.
