A dynamic voice at Koffee @TEIF, he brings deep insights into ESG, legal advisory, compliance systems, and the evolving role of technology in corporate governance

Amey’s journey reflects resilience, adaptability, and a passion for governance and compliance. Born and raised in Miraj, Sangli (Southern Maharashtra), he pursued Commerce, Law, and Company Secretary studies before moving to Mumbai in 2010 to complete his CS internship. Over the years, he has transitioned across multiple industries and roles—from corporate secretarial functions to compliance advisory, ESG consulting, and now financial markets.

In the conversation, Amey shares his professional philosophy, personal reflections, and the evolving role of compliance and ESG:

  • Compliance Across Sectors: He introduces the “70–30 rule” and the “3P framework” (People, Product, Processes) to explain how compliance varies across industries while retaining a common core.
  • Advisory vs. In-house: Amey likens the relationship between advisors and in-house professionals to a partnership in sport, where both roles bring unique challenges and skills.
  • Balancing Risk and Growth: He emphasizes the delicate act of aligning compliance with business objectives, stressing the importance of prudent decision-making.
  • ESG Integration: From carbon footprint mapping to social certifications and governance structures, Amey highlights how organizations can navigate ESG with tailored strategies.
  • Technology in Compliance: He points out the utility of dashboards, analytics, and tools like Foxit PDF in simplifying compliance reporting and management—while cautioning that tech must be paired with adoption at all levels.
  • Career Guidance: For young professionals, he underscores attention to detail, commercial acumen, timeliness, and client orientation as key skills for success.
  • Personal Inspirations: Movies like Cast Away and 127 Hours inspire his resilience; Ratan Tata remains his corporate role model; and books like Tata N. are on his learning list.
